Sales are done through
the two factories and we have entered into strategic alliances
with distribution channel members and currently we have more
than 80 stockists countrywide. In addition we also have satellite
stockists in rural areas. Our focus and emphasis is on bringing
fertilizers and other agro-inputs proximity to where the actual
farming activity is taking place.
Farmer Support Schemes
We have introduced various schemes tailor made to support different categories of our customers-from rural farmers to corporate because it is our conviction that one size does not fit all.We have been called upon to come up with these innovative farmer support schemes given the current business landscape which is characterized by fact very limited financing facilities available to the farmers.

Employment levels
The company employs between 320 permanent
and up to 380 seasonal staff at peak periods.
COMPOUND FERTILISERS
Windmill manufactures a wide range of compound fertilizers with varying Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium ratios. In addition to these macro-nutrients these compounds also contain some micro-nutrients depending on the target crop and or soil deficiencies. These micro-nutrients include some of the following;- sulphur, boron, zinc etc.
Windmill compound fertilizer products have been developed through years of agronomic research on the various crops grown in the country. However customer specific NPK compounds can be made according to the customer’s requirements. Customer’s requirements are usually based on soil analysis reports.
STRAIGHT FERTILISERS
Windmill distributes a wide range of straight fertilizers which include some of the following:-
ammonium nitrate, urea, single superphosphates, double superphosphates, sulphate of potash and muriate of potash. The nitrogen straight fertilisers are normally used for top dressing for most crops while the latter straights are applied to the soil to correct soil nutrient deficiencies as reflected by soil analysis results.
Windmill does not manufacture straight fertilizers but procures these from international manufacturers with whom the company has entered into strategic partnerships.
BLEND FERTILISERS
Windmill produces a wide range of blended products using its blending facility which is ranked as the best in Africa. Blend fertilizers are made by dry mixing of different granules without chemical reaction to achieve a multinutrient fertilizer of a required nutrient analysis.
We do custom blends for our customers based on either soil analysis reports or for customer’s specific purpose.

The company provides its fertilizer products directly to farmers through its countrywide distribution channel that consists of warehouses and stockists located in the farming areas. Fertiliser delivery services to the customers form an intergral part of the sales strategy of the company.
The customers are supported by highly qualified technical field sales representatives on agronomy matters. In addition to extension advisory services the company runs some training programmes for farmers in the production of various crops.
Corporates
The company also supplies its fertilizer products to corporate companies involved either in contract farming or direct farming. To achieve a win win situation the company normally structures deals that are suitable to its corporate clients.
Governmment
Windmill has always supplied fertilizers to various government farmer support programmes aimed at improving agricultural production.
Non –Governmental Organisations
